Now whether this is your first or third, caring for a newborn is just as challenging. Providing what is best for your precious bundle of joy shouldn’t be.
Military community has always been supportive of women, especially moms. They believe that the role of every mother is a sacred one and needs appreciation. As a matter of fact, there are programs to help military spouses who have babies. The best example is The Breastfeeding Shop.

Q: Do I have to pay for anything?
A: No. Breast pumps are absolutely of NO COST or $0.
Q: How does it work?
A: Tricare covers the breast pumps for new mothers. Moms who adopt an infant are also eligible.
Q: Do I need a prescription from my doctor?
A: No. If you have a prescription, it’s fine. But if you don’t have one, The Breastfeeding Shop will call your doctor and get them for you.
Q: I am having another baby. Am I allowed to get another breast pump?
A: Yes. Tricare covers at least one manual or electric breast pump every time you give birth to another child or you adopt another infant.

A: Aside from breast pump, you can also get breast pump supplies at NO COST or $0. That includes a standard power adapter, locking ring, bottles, storage bags, and tubing adapters.
Q: How to get my breast pump?
A: All you have to do is submit your prescription at The Breastfeeding Shop, answer a few questions and you’re done! The Breastfeeding Shop is an authorized Tricare provider so you don’t have to worry about submitting documents to Tricare. They will take care of all the paperwork and process for you.
Q: Where do I claim my breast pump?

I love that so many different insurance companies are giving out free breast pumps now! They can be so expensive to just flat out purchase! I got mine for “free” through my insurance. I mean it really isn’t free b/c we pay for insurance but i feel like it is a wonderful perk that we deserve for our monthly payments.

i love that basic necessities are being offered for free. Breast pumps can be so expensive but, if they were more accessible to women then we would probably breastfeed longer.
